I was able to save more than two hundred U.S. dollars in the recent trip to Kuala Lumpur from the Philippines. Instead of boarding up for the week in a cheap hotel, I discovered the week before my vacation, that an old friend had taken, and a wandering expatriate status in the Bangsar area of Kuala Lumpur, one of the better-looking districts of Malaysia's capital city. We were really close to not going to find our ways to each other outside of work, but we were in the vicinityenough to share a few rounds of alcohol.
So they told me to give her a ring when I arrived in Malaysia. From the Philippines I took a flight to Singapore for a conference and took the bus to Kuala Lumpur, a good five hours drive down the long highway linking Singapore to KL. She had given me a place to stay a week long vacation, I decided this opportunity to extend my flight from the Philippines, when I still retain fond memories. It turns out that they would be leaving (forSingapore, for a conference) and really do not mind entrusting their place for me at the moment. I jokingly call myself "her husband kept." That was probably the kindest gesture someone ever did for me and since I was in one of the finest developments in KL for a whole week.
And it took days before I find out what they give in return for. You see the catch was that my flight does not coincide to the Philippines and her flight. I would like to leave an empty leftCondo, left the key in the drop-down box in the Office of the Administrator for them to pick one days after I left.
I spent the afternoon in the cafeteria is usually good five minutes from the apartment and right next to a grocery store where I had to go through my corn for the day and wine for the night. Part of my "return gift" for me they also increase their pantry with cereals, cheese, bread and a bottle of house wine. But there was still something missing. Just looking aroundthe furnished apartment I knew that I was missing that special touch. And then it dawned on me that I looked at the counter near the television. I ran back to the grocer and picked up a new charge ordered flowers. Back in the apartment, I emptied the vase of water with the old withered flowers and replaced them. As good as new, their place is now a special note.
Days later, she left me a message saying the computer, she was very grateful for the pantry gesture - and especially happy about the floralArrangement in the living room. It can make is a great feeling to know that someone is so happy, even if you are so far away. Since she moved in, this was the first time that vase contents were replaced.
